3 Houses with Volcano and Lake view, swimming pool and jacuzzi. Total of 8 bedrooms and 9 bathrooms.
We named this property Pie in the Sky because initially we did not believe it was ever going to possible to build up there. Then we figured out how to build the road. This road is approximately 500 meters long and leads to an amazing vista view of the Lake and Volcano Arenal. We started construction of this collection of houses, swimming pool, observation tower and yoga deck and infrastructure in 2008 and completed it in late 2012. We have been adding features to it ever since, and there is some space for further expansion. It’s been a very popular group of rental properties, and we frequently rent multiple units to the same group. We have had some beautiful weddings here, and a lot of family reunions. While this could be divided up into a condominium we are offering it here as a single property. 2019 rentals sales were $139,341.

More about this property
This property contains three houses and other improvements:
Pie 1: A beautiful wood one room efficiency with all the trimmings. TV, internet, a/c, mini kitchen and full bath, custom draperies and bedding, all right next to the pool. Amazing panoramic view of the lake and volcano.
Pie 2: Stunningly beautiful two bedroom/two bath home composite (wood and concrete) construction with custom furniture, antique chandeliers, large spacious kitchen with granite counter tops and modern appliances. This house features a lot of custom woodwork including futon sofa, custom cabinets, custom doors and windows, armoires, a high vaulted ceiling, a gorgeous teak root table. Beautiful view of the lake and volcano. Both the bedrooms have double master locks on interior access doors and private outside entrances enabling them to be rented as just a room, or as a whole or partial house.
Pie 3: Originally designed as a 4 bedroom, while under construction we added a separate fifth bedroom, a unique octagon shaped room with a stairway leading to a bathroom underneath. Large kitchen with a bar for extra dining space, two futons sofas and 3 extra day beds. And again this house features a lot of custom woodwork including two futon sofas, custom cabinets, custom doors and windows, armoires, a high vaulted ceiling. We have hosted family groups as large as 18 people. All the bedrooms have double master locks on interior access doors and private outside entrances enabling them to be rented as just a room, or as a whole or partial house.
Swimming pool: Set into a large custom pavilion with a waterfall we have a full size pool. The pump room and filter system is under Pie 1. One end has a swim up bar. Pool is finished in heat absorbing tiles.
Jacuzzi Gazebo: At the west end of the pool, (with steps from the pool), surrounded by custom landscaping, sits a beautiful custom gazebo with a modern Hot Springs 5 person jacuzzi with cover caddy, additional seating and a drink bar. The space underneath the elevated gazebo houses a 4 machine laundry and lockable cabinet for houskeeping.
Yoga deck: At one point we had instructors holding regular classes three times a week there, but lately its become the BBQ deck and we frequently see families holding outdoor dinners there.
Cistern and Generator: Fed by a dedicated spring ( or optionally the city water) this large custom tank holds approximately 30,000 gallons of water as a reserve for the Majestic Lodge ( listed separately on this site, but adjacent to and somewhat connected) and the Pie resort. There is also a modern 45 kw generator that serves both Majestic and Pie. These have proven invaluable during periods when power or water are interrupted due to falling trees or landslides.
Observation tower: On the west side overlooking the valley containing the tilapia pond sits the observation tower. Rising about 20” above the ground we often see guests enjoying the sunset and observing the wildlife.
There several other improvements not specifically listed like the tilapia pond, the humming bird garden, hiking trails, and random seating. Also included if not sold before is a 10kw, 60’, hydraulic tilt tower Wind Generator. A project started but never completed, the generator sits here new in the box.
