Urban Centers: San Isidro

Playa Potrero is quite simply a quaint beach town just north of Flamingo on the Gold Coast of Guanacaste. The main road that travels through this small town is home to many bars and restaurants, many of which feature live music, sports and fine spirits. This town is very popular among ex-pats which brought rise to the area of Potrero known as Surfside Estates. This, and other surrounding communities features small to large home for sale and for rent, and buoys the local economy by constantly attracting visitors year round. Though small, this town has all the necessary goods and services you might need including a local favorite fruit and vegetable stand on the main road. And for what you can't find, there's always Coco, Liberia or Tamarindo within 30 minute's drive in either direction.

As with most areas in this part of Costa Rica, the entire surrounding area is full of things to do for the sports enthusiast, to the nature lover to those just wanting to relax. As the day draws to a close, the clubs on the 'strip' liven up with unique cuisine and nightly entertainment. With so much so close, many residents opt to not own a car and will often drive a golf card instead.
